Tackling the tough stuff

Iowa Ladies Football Academy Fundraiser

This year I will be participating in a fundraiser for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.  I’ve been a student and/or employee of the University of Iowa for 22 years.  Part of my current job at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics involves providing administrative support to the children’s and women’s services nursing units at the Hospital.  Day after day we take care of their requests for supplies, equipment, staff appreciation events, children’s events and much more.  Seeing how hard they work and the immense impact that these nurses and other hospital staff have on children and their families is so inspiring.  I’ve accepted the challenge to participate in the Iowa Ladies Football academy, which raises funds for the Stead Family Children’s Hospital. I know personally and have met many people whose lives have been positively impacted by the UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital. I have another personal connection to the university now, as well. This year my nephew, Tristan Wirfs became a Hawkeye Football player at the University of Iowa.  I look forward to getting a tiny taste of what his life on the football team is like, while at the same time raising funds for the children’s hospital. I would be immensely grateful for any donation that you would feel able to make to this wonderful event! My goal is to raise $500 or more. Thank you! Go Kids and Go Hawks!

Sincerely,

Julia Blake
